OFFENSES
REPORTED
These offense reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
Burglary
A burglar caused $50 damage between 5 p.m. June 3 and 8 a.m. June 4 to a door at an abandoned residence owned by Mid-Kansas Cooperative in the 100 block of S. Maple St. in Peabody.
The co-op reported an additional attempt — this time, not forcible — to enter the building between 5 p.m. June 4 and 9 a.m. June 5, according to two of three offense reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department.
The department investigated because all Peabody police officers have resigned and not yet been replaced.
Theft
Two gas cans and 10 gallons of gasoline, together valued at $80, were reported stolen between 11:55 p.m. June 5 and 9:30 a.m. June 6 from Debbie J. Johnson’s residence in the 600 block of N. Locust St. in Peabody.
The sheriff’s department investigated because Peabody has not yet hired replacement officers.
HILLSBORO
Violation of offender registration
Stopped by officer John Huebert at 10:27 p.m. Friday near Adams and D St. for having a defective mirror and a defective license plate light, Ryan E. Williams, 41, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of failing to register as an offender in Nebraska.
He was taken to Marion County Jail and released Monday after posting a $10,000 bond.
Transporting an open container of alcohol
Stopped by officer John Huebert at 1:04 a.m. Saturday near 3rd and Ash Sts. for improper use of turn signals and having a defective license plate light, Scott A. Fisher, 64, Hillsboro, was arrested on suspicion of transporting two open containers of alcohol and failing to display evidence of vehicle liability insurance.
Huebert attempted to issue a notice to appear rather than arrest Fisher but reported that Fisher refused to sign the notice and therefore was taken to Marion County Jail and released Monday on his own recognizance.
Possession of stimulants and drug paraphernalia
Five syringes and a trace amount of methamphetamine were discovered after officer John Huebert stopped a vehicle at 9:18 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of N. Madison St. for failing to signal a turn.
Sara J. Lanham, 30, Newton, was arrested first on outstanding warrants charging her with theft and unlawful computer acts and then, after being searched, on suspicion of possessing stimulants and drug paraphernalia.
An additional suspected charge of trafficking in contraband at a correctional facility was added as she was taken into jail and a glass smoking pipe fell out of her bra while she was being searched by a female correctional officer.
Lanham was being held in lieu of posting a $10,000 bond.
Possession of THC, drunken driving
A gram of THC resin and a vape pen were discovered after officer John Huebert stopped a vehicle for speeding at 2:29 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of E. D St.
Huebert smelled an alcoholic beverage after stopping the vehicle and obtained a warrant to draw blood to test for intoxication. The seized items were discovered after detaining the driver for the blood test.
Chad P. Ingels, 41, Oklahoma City, was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia and, pending results of the blood test, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
He was released 6½ hours later after posting a $2,500 bond.
MARION

Three squad car light bars and two boxes of electronic parts, together valued at $101, were reported stolen between midnight and 9:40 a.m. Thursday by a burglar who used a bolt cutter to cut a lock on a sheriff’s department storage locker in the 1100 block of Industrial St.
