SHERIFF
Criminal damage
A stranger reportedly did $2,500 damage between 1:21 and 3:04 a.m. Dec. 9 to two trucks parked at Donna L. Morris’s residence in the 200 block of E. Central Ave. in Peabody, according to one of two offense reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department.
Aggravated assault, assault, criminal damage, interference with law enforcement
Drugs and alcohol are suspected of playing a role in an incident at 6:57 a.m. Dec. 14 in which an acquaintance allegedly threatened John W. Darnall of Florence with a blunt object at a home in the 100 block of W. 7th St. in Florence.
Kristi J. Darnall also reportedly was threatened, but not with a weapon, and two chairs and a set of cabinets owned by Brent N. Potocnik of Florence sustained damage estimated at $700.
The portions of Deputy Landis Goodman’s report that were released Friday contain no further information, but jail records indicate that shortly afterward Goodman arrested Richard Litton, 40, Peabody, on suspicion of all of the alleged charges except criminal damage plus a suspected charge of criminal trespassing.
Litton, previously jailed 10 times for a total of all or part of 647 days since Feb. 1, 2018, remains in Marion County Jail in lieu of posting a $10,000 bond.
