Marion Senior Center correspondent
Patrons of Marion Senior Center are gathering several items for people including egg cartons for John Dvorak to use in the Marion County Emergency Food Bank, grocery store coupons for the American Legion Auxiliary, craft items for Marion Elementary School, such as rubber bands, yarn, string, shoeboxes, and paper towel and toilet paper rolls.
Several helped unload USDA food commodities and box them up on May 7. Those who helped included Harold Triggs, Sue Clough, Jon and Suzanne Thole, Clayton Hamm, Vern Bowers, Al Ash, Gene Winker, and Shirley Moore.
Ron and Connie Shipman played country western music on May 7. Connie played the fiddle and Ron the guitar, while both sang.
Senior Center Day is May 21. Bennie Holtsclaw will perform.
