Patrons get first taste
of shared garden produce

Senior Center manager

Produce sharing began last week when Darvin Markley brought beets from his garden to give away. Shirley Bowers also brought day lilies to brighten the center.

At the center’s monthly business meeting June 18, Jerry Kline won an election to determine who would be the center’s nominee to represent the county at the annual Sunflower Fair.

Barb Smith, who talked in May about traversing the Panama Canal, presented a program about her travels in Central America and Columbia.

Patrons sang “Happy Birthday” to Caleb Abbott, whose birthday was June 15.

Patrons are urged to wear red, white, and blue for a special patriotic program July 3. The center will be closed July 4.
