Patrons of Marion Senior Center observed Poem in Your Pocket Day April 18 by reading excerpts of columns by Pat Wick and others. Connie Fisher, Sue Clough, Jerry Kline, Prudy Hanson, Lynne Watts, Jerry Higgins, and Shirley Bowers all read poems. Estelle McCarty read a poem she wrote about the center.
Prudy Hanson’s birthday was celebrated April 18 with a cake baked by Rhonda Brenzikofer.
Fifteen friends were in attendance for Friends Day.
Joan Meyer and Prudy Hanson brought boxes of towels for the kitchen.
The center is needing one or two meal delivery people for Thursdays and Fridays. To volunteer contact the center at (620) 382-2942.
Sheryl Simmons, a physical therapist at St. Luke’s, gave a demonstration of canes and walkers on April 23.
Ron and Connie Shipman will present a musical program May 7.
