Peabody donations be doubled
The Patterson Family Foundation will match donations to Peabody Community Foundation until Dec. 26.
Peabody foundation associate director Paige Barnes said the Patterson Family would match up to $70,000 in donations.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Patterson Family Foundation for their ongoing support,” she said in a release. “This matching opportunity helps to ensure the sustainability of our foundation and provides much-needed funding to benefit a variety of initiatives that support our community. We encourage everyone to contribute, as every dollar donated will have double the impact.”
The board has identified several priorities for this year’s match campaign. The priorities include community improvement and housing, endowments, and money to support the Peabody city pool.
The foundation will sponsor Giving Tuesday and Winterfest from 5:40 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Peabody Burns Junior /Senior High School.
Giving Tuesday provides an opportunity to learn more about local charities and how to support them.
Winterfest includes a student art show, choir performance, cheerleader and basketball team spirit show, free-throw contest, and alumni basketball scrimmage.
