The Warriors jumped out to a 16-0 lead but couldn’t hang on, losing 52-30 at home Friday.
“Even though the final score was not desired, I am very proud of the work the team did in that game,” coach Eric Dutton said. “They never gave up, and even when they were completely worn down they were finding ways to move the ball and make big plays on defense.”
In six-man rankings, quarterback Aiden Hurst ended the season second in the state with 870 yards passing, ninth in the state with 518 rushing, and second in the state with total yards of 1,388.
Jameson Miles was third in state with 376 receiving yards, fourth in sacks with five, and 13th in state for total tackles at 61. Joesuf Aydelott finished first in state with nine sacks.
“This is a very talented group I got the pleasure of coaching this year, and the two seniors’ will definitely be missed ,” Dutton said. “We had a few younger kids really step up this year that made a big difference on both the offense and defensive side of the ball. Jameson has really found his edge this season.
“It has really been a lot of fun to watch them grow and learn how to play on such a physical level.”
