Jan. 4: Theft of a mailbox was reported. Nine rural mail boxes were located with two mailboxes still having mail in them. The case is under investigation.
Jan. 5: A non-injury accident was investigated.
Jan. 6: Theft of an Xbox360 from The HUB was reported. The case has been solved and an arrest will be made.
Jan. 7: A run-away child was reported. A non-injury, weather-related accident was investigated.
Jan. 8: Marion Police Department received assistance with a search warrant.
Jan. 9: A second non-injury, weather-related accident was reported.
Jan. 10: A shoplifting incident was reported at Peabody Market. Three juveniles will be charged with theft. One of the juveniles also will be charged with possession of alcohol and tobacco products by a minor.
Jan. 13: Police responded to a report of a fight. The altercation turned out to be a family argument.
Friday: A K-9 search was used for drugs at Peabody-Burns Junior/Senior High School. Illegal drugs were found and an arrest will be made. A child sexual abuse case was reported and remains under investigation. A welfare check was provided in the 400 block of East Seventh Street. When officers responded to the call they were able to gain entry to the home and determined the resident was in need of medical assistance. An ambulance transported the individual to an area hospital.
Saturday: Fraud was reported and the investigation is ongoing.
