Pharmacy restricted

A sign on the door at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy tells customers its lobby is closed except by appointment. Customers may use a drive-through window.

Pharmacist Eric Driggers said the steps were taken to reduce staff exposure to COVID-19.

“Some people don’t know they’ve been exposed,” Driggers said. “We go into nursing homes and we have to keep exposure low.”

The pharmacy continues to give COVID vaccinations Friday mornings and will distribute free home test kits. Driggers urged customers to call first as the store typically runs out of test kits quickly after they come in.
