Physician Randy Whitely speaks to hospital auxiliary

St. Luke Hospital Auxilliary meeting was April 4.

Physician Randy Whitely gave a talk on the signs, symptoms, and causes of strokes. He encouraged everyone to have an annual exam after turning 50.

Shoppe earnings for March were $9,801.82.

Volunteers logged 881 Shoppe hours. There were 1,137 outside hours and 100 inside hours for a total of 1,237 volunteer hours. There are 187 members.

Frank Breugem has been hired by the hospital as swing bed coordinator. The Living Center plans to have an open house the second week of May to coordinate with nursing home week May 12.

Mike Norris has been hired to work with physician recruitment. Physician Amanda Baxa will be back part-time for two weeks, then will be back four days a week with Tuesdays off.

The next meeting will be at noon May 2. Rosemary Stroud, 4th district coordinator, will be a guest and scholarship recipients will attend. A meal of sandwiches, chips and cookies will be provided.
