Pick-up meal to support charity

Staff writer

The annual Holy Family Charity Auction that began March 7 will conclude Sunday with a $10 pulled-pork pick-up meal from 1 to 5 p.m. at the parish activity center in Marion, 415 N. Cedar St.

The auction, which benefits Marion County charities and families in need, is being conducted online or by phone this year.

Items up for bid are displayed online. They can be viewed at the activity center from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. today through Friday. They include handcrafted items, homemade baked goods, gift baskets, and pork and beef packages.

Bids can be placed on Holy Family Parish Charity Auction social media page until 10 a.m. Sunday or by calling Shaina Schafer at (785) 366-0151 or Sheila Hett at (785) 366-0033.

Winning bidders will be notified, and items will be available for low-contact, drive-through pickup from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Cash donations can be made at Tampa State Bank.

“We’re very happy,” committee member Sam Oborny said. “We’ve gotten really good bids on some items.”

The 2020 event raised $18,000.
