Spachek to stay on as bank president
Barry Linnens, owner and president of Cottonwood Valley Bank in Florence and Cedar Point, has purchased Pilsen State Bank in Lincolnville. The sale was finalized the second week in February.
The business was in the Spachek family for almost 100 years.
Tom Spachek opened the bank in Pilsen in 1915. It was moved to Lincolnville in 1944.
Three other generations — John, Robert, and Kurt — succeeded Tom to the presidency.
Linnens said Kurt Spachek will continue in his present role at the bank, along with the other employees.
“It will be business as usual,” he said. “Kurt is a fine young man. We look forward to working with him.”
