Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Dec. 23 – A noninjury accident was reported at Tabor College, but no report was needed. A scam attempt involving a parking ticket was reported.

Dec. 24 – A noninjury accident was reported after a vehicle hit a gas meter in the 300 block of S. Ash St.

Dec. 25 – A harassment complaint was reported.

Dec. 26 – A person met with officers about a protection order. A complaint was reported for debris on the roadway.

Dec. 27 – A person met with officers about a protection order. Equipment was moved from the roadway to avoid a traffic hazard at 1st and Adams Sts.

Dec. 28 – A harassment complaint was reported. A false alarm was reported in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St.

Dec. 29 – A suspicious person was reported on Indigo Rd., but no one was found. A 911 disconnect was reported.

Dec. 30 – A parking complaint was reported in the 400 block of S. Adams St., and a dog complaint was reported in the 100 block of W. 2nd St.

Dec. 31 – A parking complaint was reported in the 100 block of S. Washington St., a suspicious vehicle was reported at Western Heights Cir., and a reckless driver was reported on US-56. A missing dog was reported.

Thursday – Debris was cleared from the road on US-56.

Friday – A suspicious package was reported, which ended up being discarded computer cases. A noninjury accident was reported at Western Heights Cir., but no report was needed. A suspicious person was reported in the 600 block of S. Main St.

Marion

Dec. 23 – A false alarm was reported in the 1100 block of E. Main St. A loose dog was reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St., but no dog was found.

Dec. 24 – A disturbance was reported in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St., which proved to be verbal only, and no action was taken. A disturbance was reported in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. for a verbal argument over joint property, but the two people separated.

Dec. 25 – A person was warned for trespassing in the 700 block of S. Cedar St., and a motorist was warned for parking in the roadway.

Dec. 26 – A person was warned for trespassing in the 1000 block of Industrial St.

Dec. 27 – A dead cat in the road was reported in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St., which was removed by city workers. A person met with officers about a protection order. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56.

Dec. 28 – A person was warned for a noise complaint in the 1200 block of E. Main St. A 911 disconnect was reported in the 300 block of E. Main St.

Dec. 29 – A loose dog was picked up in the 900 block of Nickerson St. A motorist was warned for failing to maintain the proper lane, and a motorist received a citation for parking with left wheels to curb in the 100 block of N. 1st St.

Dec. 30 – A pedestrian received assistance reaching his/her destination. A motorist received a citation for a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road in the 200 block of Miller St., and a motorist was warned near Cedar and Hudson Sts. for no signal and speeding.

Dec. 31 – Assistance was provided with a civil issue. An injured deer found near US-56 and Industrial Rd. was put down.

Jan. 1 – A motorist received a citation for parking on the wrong side of the road.

Thursday – A person reported violation of a no contact order in the 600 block of S. Roosevelt St. A child was warned for standing on top of Central Park’s restrooms. A motorist was warned for speeding near 1st and Main Sts.

Friday – Motorists received citations for expired registration near US-56 and Cedar St., driving while suspended near Upland Rd. and US-56, and motorists were warned for speeding near Main and Roosevelt Sts., Main and Elm Sts., and for no tag light near Upland Rd. and US-56. A loose dog in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. was returned to its owner.

Saturday – A motorist received a citation near 3rd and Main Sts. for driving while suspended. A 911 disconnect was reported in the 100 block of Elm St. A motorist received a citation for expired registration near Main and Walnut Sts.

Sunday – A report of open burning in the 100 block of Billings St. proved unfounded.

Peabody

Dec. 23 – A dog owner received a citation for a loose dog in the 400 block of N. Sycamore St.

Dec. 24 – Criminal damage to property was reported in the 600 block of N. Poplar St.

Dec. 26 – Property was taken in for safekeeping from an estate in the 200 block of N. Vine St.

Dec. 28 – A license plate was reported stolen.

Saturday – A utility terrain vehicle was reported stolen in the 100 block of W. 9th St.
