Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

June 8 – A resident was warned for having an inoperable vehicle in the 200 block of C St.

June 9 – A salesman going door-to-door without a permit was reported, and other door-to-door salespeople with permits were reported to be rude. A parking complaint was made in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. A motorist near Tabor’s sports complex received assistance finding a gas station.

June 10 – Debris blown into the road by strong winds was removed. Police removed bats from a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Thursday – A suspicious person on Willow Rd. and an abandoned vehicle in the 200 block of W. B St. were reported.

Friday – A dog complaint was made in the 200 block of N. Adams St. A motorist locked out of a vehicle on Western Heights Circle was helped.

Saturday – A camper hookup was provided at Memorial Park. A locked-out motorist received assistance at the park.

Sunday – An out-of-control child was reported in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St.

Marion

June 8 – Officers investigated with a one-vehicle noninjury accident near Roosevelt and Main Sts.

June 9 – A salesman was warned for making door-to-door calls before his permit took effect. Suspicious activity was reported in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. but nothing was found.

June 10 – A broken stop sign was found at Denver and Cedar Sts. Several calls were received about door-to-door salesmen who had permits. Motorists were warned for failing to dim headlights in the 600 block of E. Main St., and for having a loud stereo in the 500 block of S. 3rd St.

Thursday – Officers investigated a verbal disturbance in the 400 block of S. 4th St. Officers responded to a false alarm in the 1000 block of Industrial St.

Friday – Calls were received about door-to-door salesmen who had permits in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. A loose dog was picked up in the 300 block of S. Roosevelt St. A person met with officers about a possible harassment incident.

Saturday – A motorist returned to pay for gas after neglecting to do so at a gas station. A motorist received assistance after running out of gas near Roosevelt and Sherman Sts. A reckless driver was reported in the 200 block of Vine St., but the motorist left before officers arrived. A motorist was warned for having no tag light near 4th and Main Sts.

Sunday – A reckless driver was reported in the 700 block of S. Roosevelt St. but no vehicle could be found.

June 8 – A found bicycle was returned to its owner.

June 9 – A homeowner received an order to vacate a house without water service.
