Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
July 19 — Police began investigating care given to a dependent after an ambulance call where a 73-year-old woman had fallen. The case has been turned over to the attorney general’s office for further investigation.
July 20 — A motorist was warned for failing to use a turn signal at US-56 and Ash St.
July 21 —A resident was cited for twice allowing a dog to run free in the 300 block of N. Washington St. Officers discussed with a teenager complaints about the teen’s driving. A complaint about possible child abuse was referred to child welfare authorities.
July 22 — An online identity theft scam involving a rental house in another municipality was reported in the 900 block of E. D St. A teenager and parents were warned about using an off-road moped in the 200 block of S. Date St. A motorist was cited for having no driver’s license and a defective windshield.
Thursday — Suspicious activity was reported near S. Main St. An intoxicated person was found in a vehicle parked at Pizza Hut. A family member was contacted to provide transportation. A motorist was cited for having no driver’s license and warned for having an obstructed vehicle tag in the 1000 block of S. Ash St.
Friday — A motorist was warned for speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone at US-56 and Ash St.
Saturday — Motorists were warned for making an illegal lane change at D and Adams Sts., and for not having trailer lights at US-56 and Orchard St. A dog complaint was made in the 200 block of Kennedy St.
July 20 — A dog was reported missing. A motorist was cited near Main and Walnut Sts. for driving 37 mph in a 20-mph zone. A motorist was warned near Main and Freeborn Sts. for having a green tag light.
July 21 — A report of damage to property in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated A dog reported missing the previous day was returned to its owner. A dog running free near Arbor and Grant Sts. was returned to its home outside the city limits. Officers met with a person who complained about an aggressive dog. A motorist was warned for having a headlight out near Main and Elm Sts.
July 22 — A parking complaint near Garfield and Cleveland Sts. was investigated.
Thursday — No one was found after a 911 disconnect was investigated in the 400 block of N. 2nd St. A noise complaint was made in the 300 block of E. Main St. A motorist was warned for having a headlight out near US-56 and Eisenhower Dr. What was reported to be a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. proved to belong to a relative of a resident. Police responded to a false alarm at a business in the 1000 block of industrial Dr.
Friday — Police investigated reports of a person filling water jugs at Central Park.
Saturday — A disturbance reported in the 1500 block of Sandstone Dr. remains under investigation. A motorist was cited for driving with a suspended license near Main and Roosevelt Sts.
Sunday — A motorist was cited near Main and Coble Sts. for not having vehicle registration. The vehicle was towed.
July 20 — Violation of a protection order was reported in the 400 block of N. Walnut St.
July 21 — A child was reported missing. An ATV was reported stolen and later found in the 100 block of W. 6th St.
July 22 — Reports of criminal restraint and deprivation of property involving a teenager were made in the 400 block of N. Maple St. They remain under investigation.
Friday — A person was warned for trespassing in the 400 block N. Maple St. and the 300 block of N. Locust St.
