Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Dec. 7 — A complaint was made about someone smoking at Country Haven Inn. Police assisted with a property dispute in the 300 block of S. Ash St., which proved to be a civil issue. Police helped a person showing signs of confusion in the 200 block of S. Ash St. to get home. A report was made of a possible lost or stolen vehicle tag in the 100 block of E. D St.

Dec. 8 — A vehicle tag that had been reported lost or stolen Dec. 7 was found in the 400 block of S. Main St. A report of possible burglary was investigated in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. The home’s mortgage company had foreclosed the property then sold it before it had been winterized. A motorist was warned for speeding 76 mph in a 65 mph zone on US-56.

Dec. 9 — An abandoned vehicle blocking access to an alley on private property in the 200 block of W. Grand Ave. was investigated. The vehicle’s owner could not be found and the registration was expired. Police removed an unwanted person from a residence in the 300 block of S. Ash St.

Thursday — A woman was arrested during a traffic stop after drug paraphernalia was found in a vehicle in the 400 block of S. Ash St. Amanda D. Brown, 30, Ramona, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Daniel L. Bowes, 44, Ramona, who also was in the vehicle, was arrested on a Dickinson County warrant.

Friday — A report was made of a restraining order violation in the 200 block of E. Grand Ave. A report was made of suspicious activity in the 400 block of N. Ash St. A complaint was made of violations at Dollar General but police observed no violations.

Saturday — A complaint was made of a possible vandalism, but a second party, not the property owner, made the report. A report was made of missing property in the 500 block of S. Ash St. A report was made of an accident in the 400 block of Orchard Dr.

Dec. 7 — A motorist was cited for speeding 93 mph in a 65 mph zone on US-56 near Cedar St. A motorist was warned for speeding.

Dec. 8 — A dog owner was warned for having a dog running free in the 600 block of Sherman St. A report was made of possible threats in the 1200 block of E. Main St. A person was warned for trespassing in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. Motorists were warned for not using a turn signal near 3rd and Williams Sts., and a motorist was warned for speeding near US-56 and Upland Rd.

Dec. 9 — A report was made of packages taken from someone’s porch in the 600 block of Hudson St.

Thursday — A report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1100 block of E. Main St. proved unfounded. A report was made of a possible missing motorist, but the motorist was found. A report was made of suspicious activity in the 100 block of Santa Fe St., but nothing was found.

Friday — A dog owner was warned for having several dogs running free in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. Police transported a possibly suicidal person from the 1500 block of E. Lawrence St. to St. Luke Hospital for evaluation. A report was made of possible underage drinking. A motorist was warned for having a headlight out near Main and 2nd Sts.

Saturday — Two motorists were warned for speeding. A report was made of possible damage to property.

Sunday — $16,000 worth of collectible Legos were reported stolen from a storage unit in the 700 block of N. Roosevelt St. Ashley Loomis, 32, and Ronald Pierce, 53, both of Marion, were arrested after some of the stolen Legos were found at 413 S. 4th St. A motorist was warned for an equipment violation on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Peabody

Dec. 7 — Police assisted with a property dispute, which proved to be a civil issue.

Dec. 9 — A report was made of a dog that bit someone in the 200 block of N. Olive. St. The dog, as well as another, had been running free, and one of the animals did not have dog tags.

Saturday — A possible theft was reported. Execution of a search warrant at 802 N. Olive St. resulted in the arrests of Jason L. Anderson, 47, Peabody, Lonney R. Taichmann, 61, Peabody, and Mystery S. Prieto, 38, Topeka, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and methamphetamine with intent to sell or distribute, and drug paraphernalia. Richard D. Hill, 33, Wichita, was arrested during the same incident on suspicion of aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, and criminal damage to property.

Sunday — Police recovered a stolen vehicle that had gone missing in Harvey County on US-50 near the Marion County line.
