Feb. 14 — Police returned lost property to an owner and investigated a report of a vehicle pulling people on a sled in the 900 block of E. D. St.

Feb. 15 — Officers investigated a 911 disconnect in the 500 block of E. D. St.

Feb. 16 — A fire alarm was reported in the 700 block of St. Ash St.

Feb. 17 — Officers assisted a motorist in the 500 block of E. D. St and did a civil stan-by in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. A water-line was rupture was reported in the 900 block of E. D. St.

Feb. 18 — Police investigated a report of an out-of-control person was in the 200 block of S. Washington St., but the incident was resolved and police took no action.

Officers arrested Michael A. Stultz, 59, Hillsboro, during a traffic stop in the 100 block of W. D. St. for possession of stolen property when the vehicle he was driving was found to be stolen out of Wichita.

Feb. 19 —Officers checked on reports of a suspicious person in the 100 block of N. Ash St. and found that Brian W. Hiebert, Hillsboro had entered a locked Auto House tow yard and removed an item from an impounded vehicle. He was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle, trespassing and theft.

Friday — Police investigated an attempted phone scam and a report of a driver spinning their tires in a driveway in the 300 block of W. 3rd St.

Saturday — Police checked on an 11-year-old girl who was treated for dog bite at Hillsboro Community Hospital. The bite was from the family’s pet in 200 block of S. Lincoln St.

Feb. 15 — Officers investigated a gas skip in the 1200 block of E. Main St. Police checked on a report of an unwanted person on property in the 1500 block of E. Main St., but took no action.

Feb. 16 — Officers served papers for a nuisance property. Police did a welfare check in the 100 block of S. 2nd St., and everything was OK. A report of an out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St., proved unfounded. Police met with residents in the 1000 block of Hudson St. about a noise complaint.

Feb. 17 — Police cited a parked vehicle blocking a crosswalk in the 500 block of E. Main St. A motorist was cited for driving 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Officers did a welfare check in the 300 block of S. Thorp St. and all was well.

Feb. 18 — Officers met with a resident about a damaged mailbox in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. A driver was cited for speeding in a 20 mph zone. Police warned a driver with a white light to the rear of a vehicle near Main and Roosevelt Sts.

Friday — Police helped an individual in a no-parking zone who was thawing their vehicle’s windows..

A license plate was reported stolen in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

K9 officer Aaron Slater stopped James R. Lewis, 45, Marion, for driving with a headlight out. Slater conducted a field sobriety test and arrested Lewis for driving under the influence, transporting an open container, and driving while his license was suspended or revoked.

Saturday — Police helped a resident remove a vehicle from Friday night. Officers did a welfare check in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St. and all was well. Police cited a driver for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St.

Sunday — Officers did a welfare check in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. Police warned a driver for speeding near 4th and Main Sts. Police cited another driver near 4th and Main Sts. for no brake lights or proof of liability insurance. Police investigated a noise complaint near Cleveland and Grant Sts., but found nothing.
