Hillsboro

May 3 — Officers investigated possible counterfeited or forged checks passed at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy. A truck that was taken by a family member without permission was returned to its owner in the 300 block of N. Birch St.

May 4 — Police cited a driver in the 100 block of S. Date St. for illegal passing and violating driving restrictions. Officers cited a driver for a suspended license and warned a driver on N. Adams St. for brake lights out. Officers checked out a report of a prowler in the 200 block of E. Grand St., but found nothing.

May 5 — Officers investigated a report of shoplifters at Dollar General. Police warned a driver in the 900 Block of E. D for speeding.

Friday — Police helped dispose of a dead dog and returned a dog running loose to its owner.

Saturday— Police checked out a report of a vehicle that backed into Sonic Drive-In, but found no visible damage. Officers did a welfare check in the 300 Block of N. Birch St., but no one was found.

Sunday — Officers looked into an Internet scam and arrested a man in the 300 block of S. Elm St. for domestic battery.

May 3 — Police investigated report of a possible protection order violation in the 100 block of S. Freeborn St. and turned in a report to the county attorney. Police returned lost property to its owner. Officers took a dog running loose to Animal Health Center.

May 4 — Police investigated a disturbance in the 500 block of N. Cedar St., but took no action. Officers warned a driver near Cedar and Main Sts. for speeding.

May 5 — Police investigated a suspicious person reported in the 800 block of Welch St., but found no one.

May 6 — Officers investigated a report of a runaway juvenile in the 400 block of S Roosevelt, but the child returned home before they arrived.

Friday — Police returned two dogs running loose to their owner in the 100 block of N. Cedar. Another dog was reported loose in the 1200 block of E. Main, but police were unable to locate it.

Saturday — Police spoke with someone looking for a lost dog, and picked up another and took it to Animal Health Center. Officers warned two drivers with brake lights out.

Police cited a driver near Industrial and US-56 for driving with a suspended license, having no proof of insurance, and suspected possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Sunday — Police talked to the owner of a dog running loose, and picked up two others and took them to Animal Health Center. Police warned three drivers for brake lights and speeding.
