ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 22 — A report of kids playing around a city storm drain proved unfounded. A dog complaint was investigated.

Nov. 23 — Police determined that a child playing with a telephone caused a disconnected 911 call in the 200 block of S. Date St. An elderly woman was helped back to her home.

Nov. 24— Police discussed a possible email scam with one resident and talked about domestic issues with another.

Thursday — An electric heater was provided for a residence without gas service. A dog running free on D St. at the eastern city limits was taken to a veterinary clinic.

Friday — Police followed up on a complaint about an Instagram post, investigated a disconnected 911 call from the 300 block of E. A St., and discussed a civil issue involving rental property

Saturday — Drivers were warned for failing to stop at Ash and D Sts. and for having a headlight out at Adams St. and US-56. A burglary at Fleming’s Mini Stor-All, 405 Orchard Dr., was investigated.

Sunday — Police received a report of a dog running free in the 100 block of N. Cedar St.

MARION

Nov. 22 — Police were unable to catch two dogs running free on Main St. No problems were found in checking two disconnected 911 calls from the 400 and 800 blocks of E. Main St. Police discussed a civil issue with one resident and delivered a message to another in the 400 block of Elm St. A driver was warned about an equipment violation.

Nov. 23 — Seven warnings were issued for speeding and equipment violations during a special traffic enforcement period. The welfare of a resident in the 300 block of W. Main St. was checked.

Nov. 24 — An open door was secured. A dog running free in the 800 block of Welch St. was picked up but its owner. An errant residential alarm in the 400 block of Walnut St. was investigated. Police met with someone about a protection order and with another resident about a missing license plate.

Thursday — A report of suspicious activity in the 600 block of Sherman St. was determined to be of no concern. A driver was warned about having a malfunctioning headlight.

Friday — Police investigated an errant residential alarm at Hilltop Manor apartments and an apparently unfounded report of reckless driving on US-56. A motorist was warned for speeding, and a disabled vehicle in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was investigated.

Saturday — Police met with a driver locked out of a vehicle. A disabled vehicle in the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated. A driver was warned for having a malfunctioning license plate light.

Sunday — Five citations for speeding, two warnings for equipment violations, and a warning for speeding were issued during a special traffic enforcement period. Police met with someone regarding a no-contact order.
