ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Dec. 13 — Police investigated a report of stickers being placed on fuel pumps at Ampride. A complaint of reckless driving on Wilson St. was determined to be unfounded. A credit card was found. Police met with a citizen about a civil issue involving property.
Dec. 14 — The unattended death of Edward Wolke, 58, at his residence in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was investigated.
Dec. 15 — Christmas lights reportedly were cut in 200 block of Elm St. Police followed up on an abuse report from the Department of Families and Children. A citation was issued for allowing a dog to run free in the 200 block of Kennedy St.
Thursday — Dogs running free in the 100 block of S. Wilson St. were returned to a fenced area.
Friday — A business asked police to stand by after terminating an employee.
Saturday — Police attempted to find two stray dogs that attacked another dog in the 300 block of N. Washington St. Officers were asked to check the house of a resident away on a trip.
Sunday — Police stood by during a civil matter at a business.
MARION
Dec. 13 — Routine activities.
Dec. 14 — A cell phone that was reported as lost later was found. Police investigated a report of a barking dog in the 400 block of S. Coble St.
Dec. 15 — Police couldn’t find a pig reportedly seen in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St. Welfare of a resident of the 400 block of Moore St. was checked. Police met with a resident regarding nuisance property.
Thursday — A suspicious package reported at Marion High School turned out to be a lunch box with food. A dead deer was removed near 3rd and Library Sts. A driver was warned for speeding.
Friday — Routine activities.
Saturday — No action was taken after meeting with juveniles involved in an online gaming dispute. Welfare of a resident of the 1500 block of E. Main St. was checked. Child custody issues were discussed with a resident.
Sunday — A driver was cited for having no proof of liability insurance.
