ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Jan. 24 — Police helped residents request an accident report, register a specialty vehicle, and deal with a property dispute.

Jan. 25 — Drivers were warned for speeding at D and Adams St. and in the 100 block of S. Main St.; for making an illegal J-turn, also in the 100 block of S. Main St.; and for failing to yield at US-56 and Elm St. Police also took a report of a residential window shot by a BB gun.

Jan. 26 — A resident complained about a drone flying in her neighborhood. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Thursday — A dog was reported loose in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. Police also followed up on a resident’s complaint about junked vehicles. A driver was warned for not having lights on a vehicle. Curfew was enforced at Memorial Park.

Friday — A second report came in about a dog loose in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. Police discussed property issues with a resident.

Saturday — Police investigated a resident’s concerns about a barking dog, checked on a roommate issue in the 400 block of N. Ash St., determined that a weak battery caused a false fire alarm, and took a report of a stolen or lost 60-day vehicle tag.

Sunday — A break-in alarm at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy proved to be false.

MARION

Jan. 24 — A resident asked about burning leaves. A dog reported to be loose in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. was not found. A message from St. Luke Hospital was relayed to a patient’s neighbor. Police gave a woman a ride to a residence in town.

Jan. 25 — A program on fingerprinting was presented for a middle school science class.

Jan. 26 — Two drivers were warned for equipment violations. Police determined no crime had been committed after a disturbance reported in the 700 block of N. Cedar St.

Thursday — An alarm accidentally was activated at Central National Bank. Four drivers were warned for speeding.

Friday — A caller asked about what may have been a battery that may have occurred several months ago. Juveniles reported to be peeling out at the high school football complex were not located.

Saturday — Police gave directions to a lost motorist.
