Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
Feb. 21 — Police helped with a parking issue at city hall, returned property to a resident, and helped another resident with a roommate issue.
Feb. 22 — No problems were found after a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of Industrial Rd.
Feb. 23 — Police directed traffic after a trailer came loose from a semi at Ash and 1st Sts. A driver was warned for speeding at Ash and Juniper Sts. Police helped with a civil matter involving payment for services.
Thursday — A driver was ticketed for speeding at Willow and Ash Sts. Another driver was warned for not using a turn signal and running a stop sign at Main St. and Grand Ave. Police escorted the high school wrestling team out of town on its way to a state tournament.
Friday — A resident complained about telephone harassment. Police helped a parent to get a juvenile to return home. A driver was warned for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of S. Main St.
Saturday — A resident discussed a property issue with police.
Sunday — A traffic stop of a driver known to have a suspended license resulted in a vehicle search and an arrest on drug and weapon charges. A dog bit its owner in the 400 block of W. B St. Police helped a resident look inside the resident’s home for a missing cell phone.
Feb. 21 — A dog loose in the 200 block of N. 2nd St. was taken to Animal Health Center. Two drivers were warned for speeding. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. and provided assistance to people concerned about a no-contact order.
Feb. 22 — A commercial alarm accidentally was activated in the 200 block of E. Main St. Police picked up trash from a business that had spilled into a roadway.
Feb. 23 — Reports of a disturbance in the 200 block of S. 3rd St. and of suspicious activity in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. were investigated, but no problems were found. A dog was reported missing, and a dog running free was returned to its owner.
Thursday — Police checked on a disabled vehicle in the 300 block of S. Cedar St.
Friday — Routine activities.
Saturday — Three citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were issued after a traffic stop in which a driver was warned for speeding. Two other drivers were warned for speeding and equipment violations. A motorist who drove through a ditch onto US-56 passed a blood-alcohol test. A juvenile picked up after curfew was returned the child’s guardians.
Sunday — Police checked on a parking complaint in an alley in the 400 block of E. Main St. Property was turned over to police for safe keeping. Police checked on the welfare of a resident in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. and provided directions to a motorist whose vehicle had its flashers on. A driver was warned for speeding.
