ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

April 18 — A resident discussed a parking issue.

April 19 — A possible internet scam was reported. A driver was cited for speeding at Ash and D Sts. Curfew was enforced at Memorial Park. Doors were checked at Prairie View’s counseling and mental health offices.

April 20 — Drivers were warned for speeding in the 700 block of E. D S. and at US-56 and Jade Rd. A disconnected 911 call was blamed on a malfunctioning telephone.

Thursday — A BB-size hole was reported in glass in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St. A report of a reckless driver on US-56 proved unfounded. A driver was cited for speeding at US-56 and Ash St. Another driver was warned about speeding in the 300 block of E. D St. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of N. Lincoln St.

Friday — Alonzo J. Stewart, 33, Hillsboro, was arrested in the 400 block of S. Birch St. on suspicion of driving while his license was suspended. Medical alarms going off at Oakwood Manor Apartments were found to be malfunctioning. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of S. Washington St. They also helped a resident with a property issue.

Saturday — Ian Weisbeck, 45, Hillsboro, was arrested on three warrants for failure to appear in court.

Sunday — A driver was warned for an equipment violation. Police attempted to deliver an emergency message.

MARION

April 18 — Police talked to a parent about a child custody issue. A driver was warned about an equipment violation.

April 19 — Police checked on a motorist near Batt and Industrial Sts. and talked to a child and a parent about a previous incident.

April 20 — Three drivers were warned for speeding or equipment violations. Police talked to a parent about custody issues.

Thursday — A motorist was cited from driving with an expired license west of town on 190th Rd. Four other drivers were warned for speeding or equipment violations.

Friday — A person who was found at a different residence was warned about trespassing in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. A resident turned in a watch that was found. A dog loose in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. was returned to owner. A driver was cited for going 34 mph in a 20-mph zone near Lincoln and Main Sts. Three other drivers were warned about equipment violations. A lost motorist asked for directions

Saturday — Tyler Craft, 27, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property after officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. A motorist was warned for making excess noise in a car parked at Casey’s General Store. Property in police custody was returned to its owner. Questions regarding offender registration were answered. Police checked sobriety at the Marion High School prom and after prom.

Sunday — One person was cited for underage drinking and two others were cited for hosting the drinking and making unnecessary noise in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. A dog running free initially eluded capture but later was caught and taken to Animal Health Center. The owner of another dog loose in the 500 block of N. Cedar St. was notified. A driver was warned about having no permit for a sport utility vehicle. Another driver was warned for speeding.
