Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
Oct. 3 — Investigation of a suspected case of driving under the influence of drugs in the 400 block of S. Washington St. is ongoing. Drivers were warned for speeding in the 1000 block of E. D St. and for speeding and failing to signal a turn in the 500 block of S. Adams St. What was reported as a suspicious person walking through yards ended up being a youth heading to Wendy’s. Police contacted a resident about a property issue. They took no report after investigating a dispute among neighbors in the 400 block of N. Ash St.
Oct. 4 — A dog reportedly running free in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. was not located. A driver in the 1000 block of E. D St. was warned for speeding.
Oct. 5 — A driver at 180th and Indigo Rds. was warned for speeding. Police helped ambulance attendants lift a patient in the 500 block of W. Grand Ave.
Thursday — A Sedgwick County arrest warrant alleging violation of probation was served on Scott Woodward, 55. A driver in the 500 block of S. Ash St. was cited for speeding and having no license. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of N. Birch St. and returned property to a resident.
Friday — Theft of tennis balls and a ball cart was reported. A driver in the 800 block of E. D St. was warned for speeding. Documentation needed to replace a lost trailer license plate was provided.
Saturday — Police enforced curfew and warned a driver at C and Wilsons St. to wear a seatbelt.
Sunday — A motorist in the 500 block of S. Washington St. was cited for having no proof of liability insurance. Warnings were issued to motorists for having no headlights in the 100 block of W. 3rd St., for an equipment violation in the 300 block of N. Cedar St., and for making an improper turn and having an invalid license plate in the 400 block of S. Ash St. Police met with a parent about her child being in a street and met with a citizen regarding suspicious activity in her neighborhood.
Oct. 3 — A non-injury accident in the 100 block of E. Main St. was investigated.
Oct. 5 — Possible violation of a protection order was reported.
Oct. 6 — A dog running free in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St. was taken to a veterinary clinic. Another dog captured in the 700 block of Hudson St. was returned to its owner, who had been looking for the dog.
Friday — Police met with staff at Marion County Special Education Cooperative regarding an out-of-control juvenile. A delayed report of reckless driving was taken. Dustin J. Luchi, 43, Marion, was arrested in the 500 block of Walnut St. on a Harvey County warrant alleging violation of an order of protection.
Saturday — Possible harassment was reported. No one was located when officers checked on a disconnected 911 call from the 400 block of N. Roosevelt St.
