ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Dec. 5 — A rural Peabody resident reported that forged checks totaling $350 had been cashed Nov. 28 and Dec. 5 at Great Plains Federal Credit Union. A business reported a suspicious credit card purchase.

Dec. 6 — Routine activities.

Dec. 7 — A resident reported 17 unauthorized withdrawals totaling $1,025 from her bank card. A driver was warned for speeding near 190th and Jade Rds.

Thursday — A Canton woman was injured when her car was rear-ended at US-56 and Orchard Dr.

Friday — A resident had a question about an order of protection from abuse.

Saturday — Police stood by during a mental evaluation at Hillsboro Community Hospital. A resident complained about a barking dog in the 600 block of S. Ash St. A driver at US-56 and Ash St. was warned about speeding and equipment violations.

Sunday — Police met with a juvenile about reckless driving near the county fairgrounds, helped a driver at Cedar and 3rd Sts., and met with a resident of the 600 block of S. Ash St. about the resident’s dog barking late at night.

MARION

Officers made seven traffic stops during the week.

Dec. 5 — An intoxicated woman in the 1200 block of Weldon St. was returned to her motel room. A window was broken at Marion Auto Supply. No problems were found after a disconnected 911 call from the 300 block of Burbridge St.

Dec. 6 — A dog reportedly running free in the 1000 block of Lawrence St. was not found.

Dec. 7 — No action was taken after a quarrel in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated. No problems were found with suspicious activity reported in the 800 block of N. Roosevelt St.

Thursday — A dog running free in the 200 block of S. Roosevelt St. was returned to its home. Police returned a phone call about a scam.

Friday — A pedestrian reportedly yelling at vehicles on Main St. was not found. Investigation of a reported theft concluded that no crime had occurred. Police could not find a fire reported along US-56/77 near 210th Rd.

Saturday — The owner of two dogs running free in the 800 block of N. Roosevelt St. was contacted.

Sunday — Christmas decorations were stolen from a yard in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. Police helped shut off leaking water at a residence in the 300 block of S. 1st St. No problems were found regarding a small fire in the back of a residence in the 100 block of N. Cedar St.
