ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Dec. 19 — A person attempting to get into vehicles at Memorial Park was found to be someone confused about whose vehicles they were. Police checked a suspicious vehicle at the city’s sewage lagoon.
Dec. 20 — A backpack was found on the city’s walking trail. Two young boys seen entering a rabbit barn at the county fairgrounds were gone when an officer arrived. Police were called to a fender-bender involving backing in the 200 block of N. Washington St. and to a landlord/tenant dispute 400 block of N. Ash St.
Dec. 21 — Hillsboro and Hesston police investigated a forgery case at Central National Bank. A dog reportedly was running free in the 500 block of Main St.
Thursday — Power failed in the city. A fire alarm in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. proved to be a false alarm.
Friday — A woman did not seek medical treatment after crashing her bicycle on slick streets at Adams and D St. Water leaks were discovered in the 300 block of N. Cedar St. and in the emergency room at Hillsboro Community Hospital. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Adams St.
Saturday — A large water leak was discovered at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Fire alarms were activated by water leaks at Tabor College’s townhouses and men’s dormitory. A driver at 170th and Indigo Rd. had a panic attack. A driver at US-56 and Adams St. was ticketed for going 105 mph in a 65-mph zone.
Sunday — No violation was discovered after investigating a report of a possible violation in the 400 block of N. Ash St. of an order of protection from abuse.
Monday — Warnings were issued for failing to stop at a stop sign at Ash and D Sts., for having a broken taillight at Ash and Willow Sts., and for failing to stop and use a turn signal at Main and 3rd Sts. Police checked on the welfare of a resident in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St
