ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

March 13 — A report of a possible burglary in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. proved unfounded. A reckless driver reported on US-56 was not located. No problems were found after checking a report of suspicious activity in a bus parking area at Tabor College.

March 14 — As detailed in a separate story, a Hillsboro juvenile and a Canton man were arrested after a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado stolen in Hillsboro led authorities on a lengthy, multi-county, high-speed chase that ended with a foot pursuit in Rice County. A dog running free near Cedar St. and Grand Ave. was returned to its residence.

March 15 — Damage caused by a car door caught in wind was investigated. A motorist received directions. A utility vehicle was checked for a city permit.

Thursday — A trampoline relocated by wind in the 300 block of N. Main St. was removed. A fender-bender at Arbor Ct. and Willow Glen Ln. was investigated. No problems were found after checking on a report of a suspicious vehicle in 500 block of S. Lincoln St,

Friday — Smoking coming from the engine of a semi that pulled into Epps Service was investigated. An argument in the 600 block of W. Grand Ave. was investigated.

Saturday — Welfare of a resident of the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was checked.

Sunday — Transportation to Emporia was arranged for a passenger in a car parked at Hillsboro Community Hospital. No problems were found after a door was discovered open at Hillsboro Sports Complex.

MARION

March 14 — Disabled vehicles reported in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. and at Main and Cedar Sts. were not located.

March 15 — A driver in the 400 block of E. Main St. was warned for making a J-turn. Police discussed with residents issues involving a neighor and a civil matter.

Thursday — A report from St. Luke Hospital about child abuse in another jurisdiction was turned over to the Kansas Department of Children and Families and other appropriate authorities.

Sunday — A non-injury accident at Roosevelt and Denver Sts. was investigated.
