ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
April 17 — A parking space for an 18-wheeler was located.
April 18 — Earbuds shoplifted from NexTech Wireless were recovered; the case was referred to the county attorney for possible charges. A dog running free in the 200 block of N. Main St. was captured and taken to a veterinary clinic.
April 19 — Riley Hicks, 19, Canton, was arrested in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St. on a Marion County warrant accusing him of theft, theft of a firearm, and contributing to a child’s misconduct.
Thursday — A driver at D and Birch St. was warned about an equipment violation. Dogs reportedly running free in the 100 block of N. Jefferson St. were inside a house by the time police arrived. No problems were found when police checked on someone sleeping in a vehicle in a Hillsboro Industries parking lot.
Friday — Police discussed a curfew violation with a juvenile’s parent.
Saturday — A non-injury accident in the 1100 block of Bradford Ct. was investigated. Another motorist was warned about an equipment violation. A reportedly suicidal person in the 300 block of N. Birch St. was taken to Hillsboro Community Hospital and determined to be intoxicated, not suicidal.
Sunday — Police pushed a disabled vehicle out of the road at D and Ash Sts.
MARION
April 17 — A theft was reported in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St.; a report is pending.
April 18 — A dog running free in the 500 block of Walnut St. was captured and taken to a veterinary clinic. A delayed complaint about driving near Lincoln and Maple Sts. was investigated.
April 19 — A fender-bender in parking spaces adjacent to Marion High School was investigated. Unspecified suspicious activity was investigated.
Thursday — Police gave a ride to a driver who locked keys in a vehicle.
