Incident reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, trainings, report writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of incidents.

Hillsboro

Aug. 7 — Police took a report of a lost or stolen license tag. Officers returned a recovered cell phone.

Aug. 8 — No case was filed after a couple in the 200 block of S. Jefferson were arguing. Violation of a protective order by contact over social media was reported.

Aug. 9 — A driver was warned for speeding in the 1000 block of 190th Rd. Another was cited for having no driver’s license at Lincoln and E. St.

Thursday — Warnings for speeding, texting, and illegal passing were issued. Police spoke with a citizen about a child custody issue.

Friday — A complaint was made about parking on Adams St. by Tabor College. A fire alarm at Hillsboro High School was alarm testing. A driver was warned about an equipment violation at Ash St. and US-56. An alarm at Casey’s turned out to have been set off by an employee.

Saturday — A panic alarm at Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy turned out to be a false alarm. Warnings were issued for impeding traffic at US-56 west of Hillsboro and an equipment violation in the 100 block of N. Ash. A citation was issued for violation of driving restrictions in the 300 block of N. Ash St. Officers investigated underage drinking in the 600 block of S. Jefferson St. and issued two citations for furnishing alcohol to a minor and two citations for minors consuming alcohol.
