ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

Aug. 14 — An incident in which a Frosty was thrown at a Wendy’s employee was investigated. Warnings were issued for vehicles parked illegally in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St.

Aug. 15 — Police and mental health workers dealt with an out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Main St. Police helped a motorist remove a car from the roadway at Ash and D Sts.

Aug. 16 — A fender-bender at A and Main Sts. was investigated. A dog running free in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. was picked up by its owner. A complaint of reckless driving in the 500 block of S. Adams St. was determined to be unfounded.

Thursday — A dog running free in the 400 block of S. Ash St. was picked up by its owner.

Friday — Drivers were warned for speeding in the 900 block of S. Ash St. and at D St. and Floral Dr., for running stop signs at D and Ash Sts. and Ash and F Sts., and for an equipment violation at Ash St. and Grand Ave. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 100 block of N. Madison St. Police helped a driver secure a load.

Saturday — Police met with citizens about a noise complaint from the previous night and about a parking concern. A driver was warned for running a stop sign at Ash and Willow Sts.

Sunday — A window was broken and a side of a vehicle was dented apparently by rocks thrown in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Citing what he termed privacy concerns, Police Chief Gideon Cody has declined to provide weekly reports of Marion police activities.
