ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Aug. 21 — A resident was helped with a parking concern. A noise complaint in the 400 block of N. Ash St. was deemed unfounded.

Aug. 22 — Drinking water was provided to a motorist at US-56 and K-15/Holly Rd. A lost credit card was returned to a resident. A report of shots fired in the 300 block of E. A St. was deemed unfounded.

Aug. 23 — Warnings were issued for speeding in the 900 block of E. D St., on 190th Rd. west of town, in the 900 block of E. D St., and on Indigo Rd. south of town and for making a J-turn in the 100 block of S. Main St.

Thursday — A report of shoplifting at Casey’s General Store remains under investigation. No problems were found when checking on a resident of the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Friday — A possible phone scam was reported. A driver was warned for an equipment violation in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. Noises heard in the 400 block of N. Ash St. were from lawn chairs being blown around by wind. Debris was removed from the roadway in the 300 block of W. D St.

Saturday — A noise complaint in the 200 block of S. Date St. was resolved. Debris was removed from the roadway in the 300 block of S. Main St.

Sunday — A dog owner was cited after a dog was caught running free in the 200 block of N. Main St.

Police Chief Gideon Cody has declined to provide a weekly summary of Marion police activities.
