ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Nov. 27 — A driver was warned for not using headlights in the 300 block of S. Washington St. Police met with family members in the 400 block of S. Main St. about a juvenile with behavioral issues.

Nov. 28 — Drug and weapons charges are being sought against two Wichita men stopped in the 500 block of S. Ash St. in a vehicle reported stolen from Wichita. A stray dog was picked up and returned to its owner.

Thursday — Suspicious activity reported in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated as a possible trespassing case. An email scam with no monetary loss was reported.

Friday — Drivers were warned for failing to yield to pedestrians in the 500 block of E. D St. and for playing music too loudly at D and Lincoln Sts.

Saturday — An out-of-control juvenile in the 400 block of S. Main St. was taken into protective custody. Also in the same block, police met with a child who had been throwing rocks at vehicles. Police helped drivers who needed directions at Jefferson and D Sts. and who had a flat tire on US-56.

MARION

Nov. 27 — Police responded to a false alarm at Tampa State Bank, a parking complaint in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St., and a child-custody dispute in the 300 block of Locust St.

Nov. 28 — One of two dogs reported to be running free in the 1200 block of E. Main St. was captured and returned to its owner. A fender-bender in the Dollar General parking lot was investigated. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. and spoke to someone about thefts.

Nov. 29 — A vehicle parked on a sidewalk in the 400 block of E. Main St. was moved after police located the vehicle’s owner. Drivers were warned for texting while driving near Coble and Lawrence Sts. and for speeding at US-56 and Industrial Rd.

Thursday — One of several dogs running free near Coble and Main Sts. was located and taken to a veterinary clinic; the owner was cited for allowing an unregistered dog to run free. A driver stopped for having a defective taillight and expired registration was arrested on an out-of-county warrant. Another driver was warned for speeding in the 300 block of E. Main St. Police checked on the welfare of a resident of the 1100 block of E. Main St.

Friday — Nothing was determined to be missing after a garage door was found open in the 100 block of S. Cedar St. A disabled vehicle reported in the Family Dollar parking lot turned out to need a jump start.

Sunday — A driver was warned for speeding in the 100 block of W. Main St.
