ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Dec. 18 — A vehicle lost a wheel on Eisenhower St. A student from the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. who did not return to school was found. No problems were noted in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 200 block of N. Main St.

Dec. 19 — A driver at US-56 and Nighthawk Rd. was warned for speeding. A truck reportedly losing items from its load along US-56 was not found, nor was anything found in the roadway.

Dec. 20 — Police stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of S. Main St.

Thursday — Suspicious activity reported at Casey’s General Store was investigated.

Friday — . A goose was hit and killed by a vehicle in the 500 block of E. D St. Police conferred with Scott City police about an investigation there. A dog reported to be running free in the 200 block of S. Washington St. was not found. A suspicious person was reported in the 200 block of N. Ash St. A question about discharging fireworks on New Year’s Eve was answered.

Saturday — Police deployed stationary radar to check for speeding around the city. Police could not find a hitchhiker with luggage who was reported to be at US-56 and Adams St.

MARION

Dec. 17 — No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 100 block of S. Lincoln St.

Dec. 18 — A driver at Main and Elm Sts. was warned about an equipment violation. No evidence of damage was found in checking on a report of criminal damage in the 1500 block of E. Main St. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident and on a report of a missing child, both in the 100 block of E. Santa Fe St.

Dec. 19 — A theft reported in the 1000 b

lock of E. Main St. continues to be under investigation. A dog running free in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. was returned to its owner. A warning was issued for a crosswalk violation near Main and Elm Sts. A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St.

Thursday — A driver in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and with an expired license plate. No problems were found in checking on a report of a suicidal person in the 100 block of W. Santa Fe St. Police were dispatched for a driving complaint south of Marion, but no problems were found.

Friday — Trespassing was reported in the 500 block of S. Freeborn St. A driver was warned for speeding near Main and Elm Sts. No problems were found in checking on a report of possibly suspicious activity outside the Marion County Record office.

Saturday — Drivers were warned about defective equipment at Eisenhower Dr. and Denver St., at Main and Roosevelt Sts, near Kellison and Roosevelt Sts., and at Main and Arbor Sts.

Christmas Eve — A driver was ticketed but not arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop near Main and Billings Sts.
