ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Feb. 19 — A fender-bender in the 400 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated. Found property was returned to its owner. Children playing with a phone were blamed for a disconnected 911 call in the 500 block of S. Ash St. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 400 block of S. Washington St.
Feb. 20 — A resident reported possibly fraudulent charges on a bank account. A parking complaint in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 100 block of N. Jefferson St.
Feb. 21 — A driver was cited for speeding in the 600 block of S. Ash St. Other drivers were warned for speeding in the 600 block of N. Ash St., for making a J-turn in the 100 block of E. Grand Ave., for driving left of center on US-56 at Orchard Dr., and for driving with off-road lights on. Police stood by during a property exchange. No trouble was found after investigation disconnection of a 911 call from the 300 block of N. Adams St.
Friday —A dog reported to be loose in the 300 block of W. Grand Ave. was not found. A resident turned in found property. Drivers were warned for having a headlight out in the 400 block of S. Lincoln St. and for improperly displaying a license plate in the 800 block of E. D St.
Saturday — A fender-bender at D St. and Floral Dr. was investigated. An out-of-control juvenile was counseled. A driver was warned about not using headlights at Ash St. and US-56.
MARION
Feb. 20 — A suicidal person at Bown-Corby Apartments agreed to be evaluated at St. Luke Hospital. A resident complained about city code violations in the 300 block of Locust St. A report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of N. Roosevelt St. was investigated. Police talked to a parent about an unspecified report of vandalism.
Feb. 21 — Criminal damage was reported in the 800 block of Welch St., but no offense report was released. A driver was warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. Another driver, warned for speeding on US-56 near Timber Rd., was arrested for failing to appear in court.
Thursday — A driver was warned for an equipment violation on US-56 near Timber Rd.
Friday — A child ran away from school. Police determined that no crime had occurred after trespassing was reported in the 1500 block of E Main St.
