ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

April 22 — Police met with residents about a civil property issue and about a parking complaint.

April 23 — Police cooperated with agencies outside the city about a vehicle theft and a wanted person.

April 24 — School parking issues were addressed. The owner of lost property was identified. A driver in the 700 block of E. C St. was warned for failing to yield. Police met with a resident regarding an anti-stalking order. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 100 block of S. Floral Dr. A report of suspicious activity at the city tree dump was determined to be unfounded.

Thursday — A recovered license plate was returned to Midway Motors. Drivers were warned for an equipment violation in the 100 block of N. Main St., for not signaling a turn at US-56 and K-15/Holly Rd., for failing to stop at Washington and D Sts., and for making an improper turn at Ash and B Sts. No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident in the 400 block of N. Ash St.

Friday — A fender-bender near Santa Fe St. and US-56 was investigated. A debit card found by a resident in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. was destroyed. Police helped a locked-out motorist and a resident locked out of a home in the 500 block of S. Wilson St. Found property was returned.

Saturday — Police met with a resident of the 300 block of N. Main St. concerned about a neighbor’s tree and helped a resident of the 500 block of S. Adams St. secure a garage door.

Sunday — A youth suspected of trespassing was not found. Police met with a juvenile and the juvenile’s parents about behavior issues. Location information about a driver needing assistance on US-56 near K-15/Holly Rd. was provided to AAA.

MARION

April 22 — Police spoke to a parent concerned about a child possessing tobacco products.

April 23 — Police responded to a disturbance, reported in last week’s newspaper, at the courthouse. A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was cited for transporting an open container of alcohol. At the same location, another driver was warned for speeding.

Thursday — A driver was cited for failing to yield after a fender-bender reported by firefighters at Roosevelt and Weldon Sts.

Friday — A possible scam was reported. Drivers were warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St., for an equipment violation at the same location, and for speeding two separate times at US-56 and Industrial St.

Saturday — Police responded to an unspecified complaint in the 500 block of S. Roosevelt St. No report was released, but monitored transmissions indicate a child called dispatchers to report abuse, and an adult denied this. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.

Sunday — No offense report was released after criminal damage to property was reported in the 1000 block of E. Main St. Drivers were warned two times for speeding and once for an equipment violation at US-56 and Industrial St. and for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.

PEABODY

April 22 — No problems were found in checking on the welfare of a resident of the 400 block of Elm St.

April 23 — A loose dog was captured in the 300 block of Walnut St. Tessa D. Gray, 41, was arrested in the 300 block of Pine St. on a warrant alleging violation of her probation.

April 24 — An apparent suicide in the 300 block of Poplar St. was investigated. Police helped direct traffic for more than two hours after an accident on US-50 and relayed medical information until ambulances arrived for a medical emergency at Peabody Health and Rehab.

Friday — Police intervened in a verbal altercation in the 100 block of Walnut St. A dog bite was reported in the 400 block of Vine St.

Saturday — Violation of an order of protection from abuse was reported in the 300 block of Vine St.

Sunday — A resident reported being harassed by a telephone scam.
