ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
July 29 — An out-of-control juvenile who hit a family member at a home in the 200 block of S. Madison St. was taken into custody by juvenile authorities. A tent camper at Memorial Park was told he needed to pay a camping fee. Police met with a resident about a civil issue and stopped a driver for an unspecified traffic offense in the 900 block of E. D St.
July 30 — An ambulance was summoned after police determined that a panic alarm in the 100 block of S. Date St. involved a medical issue. Police met with a resident about a civil issue and notified city electricians about an electrical issue.
July 31 — A minor accident in the 200 block of S. Birch St. was investigated. No problems were noted after finding a garage door open at a golf cart shed. Police met with a resident about a civil issue.
Thursday — A dog was reported loose at Main St. and Grand Ave. Kids reportedly walking in the middle of the road at D and Lincoln Sts. were not located. Police helped a driver who ran out of fuel.
Friday — A complaint about a rude customer at Wendy’s was resolved among the parties.
Saturday — A suspicious person at Country Haven Inn and Dollar General was determined to be a transient passing through. A dog loose at D and Ash Sts. was returned to its owner. A suspicious vehicle was reported at Great Plains Federal Credit Union. Police met with a resident about a civil matter.
Sunday — A theft was reported at Dollar General; a report on the incident is pending. A debit card was found but its owner was not located. A dog complaint in the 200 block of Elm St. was investigated.
MARION
July 29 — A driver was warned for an equipment violation near US-56 and Timber Rd. Police checked a vehicle’s window tint at the owner’s request.
July 30 — A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Industrial St. Suspicious activity was reported at an undisclosed location.
July 31 — A door was broken in the 200 block of N. 3rd St. A transformer was sparking at Main and Billings Sts.
Friday — A 26-year-old Marion resident was arrested for making a criminal threat, domestic battery, and battery of a law enforcement officer at Bown-Corby Apartments. A list of help available was provided for a person who reported harassment in the 1500 block of E. Main St. No one responded to a welfare check in the 1000 block of Tanglewood Dr., but the individual’s mother later reported no problems. Drivers were warned for speeding near US-56 and Cedar St. and for allowing people to ride in the bed of a truck on Main St.
Saturday — Drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. and near Timber Rd.
Sunday — A person reporting a theft from a vehicle was referred to police where the crime occurred. Drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. and near Timber Rd.
