ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

June 2 — Police helped a resident with a civil matter involving property.

June 3 — No problems were found in checking on a dog in the 600 block of S. Main St. Police followed up on a traffic complaint in the 700 block of S. Washington St. and answered a resident’s questions about eviction.

June 4 — A driver was arrested on suspicion of having a suspended license and no vehicle liability insurance in the 500 block of S. Ash St. Other drivers were warned for running a stop sign on US-56 east of K-15, for having a headlight out in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St., and for playing loud music in the 500 block of S. Washington St. A suspicious person in the 500 block of S. Adams St. left town after police investigated.

Thursday — Drivers were ticketed for violating license restrictions in the 600 block of N. Ash St. and for failing to use a required anti-drinking ignition interlock in the 300 block of S. Ash St. Other drivers were warned for having a headlight out in the 500 block of S. Madison St., for having a malfunctioning license plate light at Grand Ave. and Date St., and for making an improper turn in the 400 block of S. Main St.

Friday — Police stood by during a civil matter at Barkman Honey, investigated a traffic complaint at Memorial Park, and checked on a resident of the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Saturday — Police investigated a report of reckless driving at Hillsboro’s Downtown Cruise, assisted with a civil dispute in the 300 block of N. Ash St., met with a resident about parking concerns, and delivered a message to a resident of the 300 block of N. Ash St. A driver was warned for having a headlight out in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. A disconnected 911 call from the 100 block of S. Ash St. also was investigated.

Sunday — Police helped a driver stuck in mud at Jade and 190th Rds. and checked on a resident of the 300 block of N. Ash St

MARION

June 2 — A scam was reported in the 500 block of N. Coble St. Drivers were warned for having a defective license plate light near Main and Locust St. and for running a stop sign at US-56 and Timber Rd.

June 3 — No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 500 block of S. Cedar St.

June 4 — Police investigated a noise complaint in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. and ticketed a driver for speeding near Main and Lincoln Sts.

Thursday — No problems were found in checking on an alarm in the 1000 block of E. Main St.

Friday — Drivers were ticketed near 3rd and Santa Fe Sts. for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, having no proof of vehicle liability insurance, and not using headlights when required and also near Main and Lincoln Sts. for speeding, driving with a suspended license, and failing to have insurance. Other drivers were warned for speeding near 1st and Main Sts., for having a defective mirror in the 700 block of Weldon St. A second alarm in the 1000 block of E. Main St. also proved to be a false.

Saturday — Warned for not using headlights when needed, a driver was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and without a required anti-drinking interlock. Other drivers were warned for not using headlights near Main and Billings St. and near Cedar and Denver Sts. and for having defective headlights near Main and Walnut Sts. A cell phone was reported missing.

Sunday — Police talked to someone in the 700 block of S. Roosevelt St. about a missing person investigation the night before near Burns. A driver was warned for speeding near US-56 and Timber Rd.
