ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Nov. 17 — Police resolved a parking complaint in the 100 block of S. Birch St. A resident asked about registering a moped.
Nov. 18 — Eric M. Hale, 39, Hillsboro, was arrested on a warrant alleging that he violated his probation. An officer served as a guest firearms instructor at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. Police also dealt with child custody concerns, searched the 200 block of Lincoln St. for a loose dog, did not find a door-to-door salesman reported on S. Washington St., and checked on a resident of the 300 block of N. Ash St.
Nov. 19 — A skunk was reported near the city’s sports complex. A parking issue in the 300 block of N. Birch St. was resolved. Police met with a resident about a property issue and stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of Adams St. A candidate for a position on the police force was interviewed.
Thursday — A resident reported receiving unsolicited text messages. Police helped Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks with an investigation. A resident asked about a no-contact order.
MARION
Nov. 17 — A cat bite reported by St. Luke Hospital was investigated, and the county health department was informed. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 500 block of S. Cedar St. Drivers were warned for speeding and an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.
Nov. 18 — Drivers again were warned for speeding and an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.
Nov. 19 — A resident asked about parking across from a driveway entrance. Police determined no crime had been committed after investigating a report of a possibly stolen bicycle. A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St.
Thursday — An out-of-control juvenile was reported at Oasis special education school. A parking complaint in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from the 100 block of N. 1st St. A driver was ticketed for having no proof of vehicle liability insurance at Main and Arbor Sts.
Friday — An out-of-control juvenile again was reported at Oasis special education school. Police helped sheriff’s deputies with an eviction in the 400 block of Forest St. Residents complaining of an animal problem in the 200 block of N. 4th St. were told to contact the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Four warnings for speeding or equipment violations were issued on US-56 at Industrial St., Timber Rd., and Cedar St.
Saturday — A dog loose outside Carlsons’ Grocery was taken to a veterinary clinic. Seven warnings for speeding or equipment violations were issued during three traffic stops at Main and Elm St. and one each at Main and 3rd St., Roosevelt and Batt St., US-56 and Cedar St., and US-56 and Timber Rd.
