ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
Dec. 15 — Police followed up on illegal dumping at the city’s tree dump, returned found property to a Lehigh resident, checked on a dog loose in the 200 block of N. Ash St., helped a driver with a flat tire at Ash and 3rd Sts., and talked to a resident about a civil matter.
Dec. 16 — Police worked with Emporia police on a follow-up investigation and helped elementary school officials with a student.
Dec. 17 — A bank alarm at Emprise Bank turned out to be accidental. A dead deer was removed from US-56 at Chisholm Trail Rd. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter and heard a complaint about traffic at Wilson and A Sts.
Thursday — No problems were found in checking on an open car door at 1st and Lincoln Sts. A motorist’s child safety seat was checked. Police helped with a grass fire at US-56 and Diamond Rd.
Friday — A citizen met with police about a civil matter. The downtown area was patrolled on foot.
Saturday — Police met with a resident about a loose dog, helped Marion police deal with a domestic dispute, and helped Parkside Homes with an agitated resident.
MARION
Dec. 15 — Police stood by during a civil matter in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. then returned to deal with a disturbance, during which they determined no crime had been committed. The department’s drug-sniffing police dog was deployed at a traffic stop by deputies on US-56 near Upland Rd. but detected no drugs. No problems were found in checking on a resident of the 100 block of N. 4th St. A driver was warned for speeding on US-56 at Cedar St.
Dec. 16 — Two drivers at US-56 and Timber Rd. and one at US-56 and Cedar St. were warned for speeding.
Dec. 17 — Routine duties.
Thursday — A dog loose near Main and Freeborn Sts. was taken to a veterinary clinic. Police stood by during a civil matter in the 300 block of Grant St.
Friday — A panic alarm at St. Luke Hospital accidentally was activated. Two drivers at US-56 and Cedar St. and one at US-56 and Timber Rd. were warned for speeding.
Saturday — Police determined no crime was committed during a disturbance in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. Police also went to the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. to follow up on the disturbance. Unspecified property was found in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. Police helped Hillsboro police with a disturbance. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.
