ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Jan. 5 — Police tried to find two dogs reported to be loose in the 900 block of E. D St.

Jan. 6 — A resident told police about property concerns.

Jan. 7 — A door-to-door salesman was warned of the need for a permit. A driver was warned about a complaint police had received. A resident was notified of a family member’s death. Police helped McPherson police return found property.

Thursday — A resident was told about an open garage door. Police checked city streetlights.

Friday — Police helped school staff find a child who had left school. They also gave a driver a ride home when the driver’s car broke down.

Saturday — Several drivers were warned about excessive window tinting.

Sunday — No problems were found in checking on an alarm at Emprise Bank. Police gave advice to a delivery driver whose vehicle was stuck in mud. They also followed up on a parking complaint in the 100 block of E. B St.

MARION

Jan. 5 — A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Timber Rd.

Jan. 6 — A theft was reported in the 400 block of Arbor St., and a possible fraud was reported in the 200 block of N. 4th St. An injury accident at US-56 and Cedar St. was investigated. A reportedly reckless driver on Grant St. was not found. No problems were found in checking on a disconnected 911 call from 3rd St. Police helped the sheriff’s office with a traffic stop near US-77 and 160th Rd.

Jan. 7 — No problems were found in checking on a report of a possible break-in at the former Family Dollar / Dollar Tree store. Police helped the sheriff’s office with a traffic stop near US-77 and 140th Rd. Three drivers were warned for equipment violations at US-56 and Cedar St.

Thursday — A child who left school was located unharmed. A reportedly reckless driver near Freeborn and Main Sts. was not found. Three drivers were warned for speeding on US-56 at Timber Rd.

Friday — An unwanted visitor was removed from a home in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St. A loose dog was taken to a veterinary clinic. No problems were found in checking on reports of a person acting suspiciously at Marion National Bank and of a person shining lights into a window of a house in the 500 block of S. Cedar St.

Saturday — Two drivers were warned for equipment violation on US-56 at Timber Rd.

Sunday — A driver was ticketed for driving 90 mph in a 65 zone at US-56 and Timber Rd. Two other drivers at the same place were warned — one for speeding, one for an equipment violation.
