ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies often are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.

HILLSBORO

Feb. 16 — A child who walked away from his home was located. Police helped when a wheel fell off a vehicle being towed. They also helped with a student at Hillsboro Elementary School and investigated an accident in the 100 block of N. Main St., a driving complaint in the 300 block of N. Ash St., and a trespassing complaint in the 200 block of S. Adams St. Four drivers were warned for equipment violations.

Feb. 17 — A resident found missing keys among the department’s lost-and-found property. Five drivers were warned for equipment violations.

Feb. 18 — Police again helped with a student at the elementary school, talked to residents about a civil issue and a possible violation of an order of protection, and investigated suspicious activity in the 200 block of S. Kennedy St.

Thursday — Police checked on a teen standing near the road in the 700 block of E. D St. and on a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. They also talked to residents about a civil issue and about a pending case. A reported fraud was determined to have occurred in Texas.

Friday — An accident on private property at Tabor College was investigated. A driver light in the 100 block of N. Washington St. was warned about a defective brake light. Police talked to a resident about a civil issue.

Saturday — Two dogs were reported loose at Tabor College. A driver was warned for running a stop sign in the 600 block of E. D St. Police helped with a civil matter involving property.

Sunday — Two dogs were reported loose in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A driver was warned for running a stop sign at Adams and D Sts.

MARION

Feb. 16 — A driver at US-56 and Timber Rd. was warned for an equipment violation.

Feb. 17 — Police investigated a noise complaint at the Sports and Aquatics Center, dealt with a civil matter on Santa Fe St., investigated a reported scam call, helped a locked-out resident, and helped sheriff’s deputies with a traffic accident at US-77 and 120th Rd. A driver on US-56 at Timber Rd. was warned for equipment violations.

Feb. 18 — A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned for speeding.

Thursday — A driver at US-56 and Cedar St. was warned for an equipment violation.

Friday — Police dealt with an out-of-control juvenile at an unspecified location and with a report of a suspicious person in the 400 block of S. Roosevelt St. Drivers were warned for running a stop sign at Freeborn and Main Sts. and for equipment violations on US-56 at Cedar St. and at Timber Rd.

Saturday — Police investigated a dog bite reported by staff at St. Luke Hospital. A driver at 1st and Main Sts. was warned for an equipment violation.

Sunday — A wreck at the Sports and Aquatic Center remains under investigation. Police checked on a resident of the 300 block of N. 1st St. and helped the sheriff’s office with a traffic stop at K-256 and Remington Rd. Three drivers on US-56 at Cedar St. were warned for equipment violations
