ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies typically are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
May 25 — As reported in last week’s jail roster, two Hillsboro residents were arrested. Melissa L. Lieders, 34, was arrested in the 100 block of N. Cedar St. on a warrant for failing to appear court. Zachary G. Anderson, 29, was arrested near US-56 and Indigo Rd. on suspicion of failing to use a required anti-drinking ignition interlock. A parking complaint in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. also was investigated.
May 26 — A driver was ticketed at US-56 and Adams St. for displaying an incorrect license plate. A driving complaint on US-56 also was investigated.
May 27 — Police investigated a parking complaint in the 400 block of W. Grand Ave. and talked to a resident about a civil matter.
Thursday — A dog was reported loose at Lincoln St. and Grand Ave. A driver was warned for having no taillights at Adams and C Sts. Police talked to a resident about a civil matter involving a motorcycle, to another resident about a child-custody dispute, and to KBI agents about an unspecified investigation.
Friday — A dog was reported loose at the Tabor College sports complex. Police investigated a driving complaint on Indigo Rd. and talked to Hutchinson police about a child-custody issue.
Saturday — A parking complaint in the 100 block N. Washington St. was investigated. Two drivers were ticketed — one for driving with a suspended license and no brake lights at 190th and Jade Rd. and one for running a stop sign, speeding, and demonstrating speed in the 200 block of S. Ash St.
Sunday — Police talked to a resident about a civil matter, investigated a disconnected 911 call from the 600 block of S. Wilson St., and helped deputies investigate a report, which they determined to be false, of a burglary in Lehigh.
MARION
May 25 — Two drivers were warned — one for speeding, one for an equipment violation — at US-56 and Timber Rd.
May 26 — Police helped a driver with a possible medical emergency on US-56 east of Timber Rd.
May 27 — A sick animal was destroyed in the 600 block of S. 4th St. A driver was ticketed for having no proof of insurance, six others were warned for speeding, and one was warned for an equipment violation in three traffic stops at US-56 and Timber Rd., three at Main and 3rd Sts., and one at US-56 and Cedar St. Police helped deputies with a car-deer wreck at 180th and Sunflower Rds.
Thursday — A resident complained about an animal in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. Two drivers were warned for speeding at Main and Walnut Sts. and Main and 3rd Sts. Police helped deputies with an unspecified matter on Santa Fe St.
Friday — Responding to a complaint, police arrested a Marion man on suspicion of trespassing and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Two other drivers were warned — one for an equipment violation, one for speeding — at Main and Thorp Sts. and at US-56 and Timber Rd.
Saturday — Another animal complaint in 200 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated. A driver was warned for speeding at US-56 and Cedar St.
Sunday — Police investigated a disturbance in the 500 block of S. Coble St. Two drivers were warned for speeding and one for an equipment violation in traffic stops at Main and Arbor Sts., Main and Elm Sts., Main and Roosevelt Sts.
