ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies typically are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
June 8 — A suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of N. Ash St. A resident reported losing a wallet. Another resident talked to police about a possible violation of an order of protection from abuse. A driver was warned for running a stop sign in the 100 block of N. Ash St.
June 9 — A lost cell phone was returned to its owner. Police helped the Department of Children and Families with an investigation, talked to a resident about installing a car seat for a child, and checked on a resident of the 100 block of S. Ash St.
June 10 — A driver was warned for running a stop sign at Ash and D Sts. A dog was reported loose in the 100 block of S. Birch St. A resident complained about a driver at US-56 and Orchard Dr. Police helped the sheriff’s office at a call about domestic violence in Durham.
Thursday — Residents complained about parking in the 500 block of S. Washington St., about trespassing that occurred several days earlier, and about violation in the 100 block of S. Lincoln St. of an order of protection from abuse. A disconnected 911 call from Barkman Honey’s parking lot was investigated. Police helped the sheriff’s office investigate an injury accident; no report of the accident has yet been released.
Friday — Heather M. Nichols, 53, Hillsboro, was arrested on a McPherson County warrant alleging criminal trespassing. Police helped the state Departments of Corrections and Children and Families with investigations.
Saturday — A traffic stop in the 600 block of Western Heights Circle led to two arrests — driver Tylor R. Carroll, 44, Colorado Springs, on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and passenger Morgan R. Glenn, 40, Colorado Springs, on a McPherson warrant for failing to appear in court. A dog was reported loose in the 100 block of N. Madison St. Trespassing was reported in the 400 block of N. Ash St. Residents of a home in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. were warned about loud music after an officer on patrol heard yelling from the home. Police checked on a report of a suspicious person at Casey’s General Store, on a resident of the 400 block of S. Main St., and on a disconnected 911 call from the municipal pool.
Sunday — A resident complained about harassment in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. Drivers were warned for an equipment violation in the 800 block of W. D St. and for running a stop sign in the 200 block of E. A St.
MARION
June 8 — A driver was warned for an unspecified moving violation at Main and Walnut Sts. The city building was opened as a potential storm shelter.
June 9 — An allegation of animal cruelty was investigated in the 100 block of Washington St. A dog loose in the 400 block of N. Freeborn St. was returned to its owner.
June 10 — Police began investigating an unspecified case from Wichita that involves a juvenile. The city building was opened as a potential storm shelter.
Thursday — A missing child was located unharmed. A resident of the 1500 block of E. Main St. reported threats made via Snapchat. Three drivers were warned for speeding at Main and 4th Sts., at Main and Walnut Sts., and on US-56 at Timber Rd.
Friday — Police helped a sheriff’s deputy with a suicidal person in Florence and checked on a disconnected 911 call from the 200 block of W. Santa Fe St. A driver was warned for an unspecified moving violation at US-56 and Industrial St.
Saturday — Police investigated a noise complaint in the 100 block of S. Roosevelt St. Three drivers were warned for equipment violations on US-56 at Cedar St. and at Timber Rd. The city building was opened as a potential storm shelter.
Sunday — A vehicle was stopped for unspecified reasons at Main and 3rd Sts. Police helped Hillsboro police with sobriety testing at a traffic stop in Hillsboro.
