ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies generally are excluded. Dates may reflect starting or ending dates of officers’ shifts rather than actual dates of occurrence.
HILLSBORO
June 22 — A possibly venomous snake reported in a tree in Memorial Park was not found. Police returned a lost bicycle to its owner and talked to residents about possible identity theft and a civil matter. An officer patrolled downtown on foot.
June 23 — A driver was warned for not using headlights at Ash and D Sts. Police helped a driver at US-56 and Adams St. and talked to a resident about a civil matter.
June 24 — Police talked to a resident about harassing phone calls, checked on a false alarm near 190th and Kanza Rds. and on a resident of the 100 block of S. Lincoln St., and issued a warning about parking there. Reckless driving was reported on US-56 east from the McPherson County line.
Thursday — A possible scam was reported at Pizza Hut. Dogs were reported loose near Lincoln St. and Grand Ave.
Friday — Reckless driving was reported on US-56 east from the McPherson County line. Police investigated an animal complaint in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St.
Saturday — A vendor who had not obtained a permit was contacted.
Sunday — Police dealt with a noise complaint at Casey’s General Store, a complaint about a dog loose at Washington and 3rd Sts., and a resident’s questions about a civil matter.
MARION
June 22 — Dogs were reported loose in the 600 block of S. Lincoln St. and at Coble and Denver Sts. Two drivers were warned for speeding and one for an equipment violation at Main and Lincoln Sts., US-56 and Timber Rd., and US-56 and Cedar St.
June 23 — Police investigated a disturbance at the school district’s baseball fields and a scam reportedly received in the mail in the 400 block of N. Lincoln St.
June 24 — Police received a complaint about driving in the 700 block of S. Coble St., checked on a resident of Santa Fe St., and warned three drivers for speeding at Main and Walnut St., Main and Locust Sts., and US-56 and Cedar St.
Thursday — Two drivers were warned for speeding or equipment violations on US-56 at Timber Rd. and at Industrial St.
Friday — Police helped Hillsboro police deal with an unspecified complaint in the 600 block of S. Cedar St. and checked on a vehicle parked behind Cenex. Three drivers were warned for speeding — one each at Main and Lincoln St., US-56 and Cedar St., and US-56 and Timber Rd.
Saturday — Police were flagged down for a medical emergency in the 200 block of S. Coble St. A driver was warned for an equipment violation at US-56 and Cedar St. Police helped the sheriff’s office with an unspecified complaint.
Sunday — Police ticketed the owner of a dog loose on Fairview Dr.
