July 14: Police took a dog complaint, a report of an unregistered vehicle on D Street, and checked on suspicious activity at the sports complex.

July 15: Police responded to reports of a possible unregistered sex offender, and concerns about mental health and picked up an abandoned bicycle in the 400 block of West B Street.

July 16: Police took reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of North Cedar Street and suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Main Street, assisted a parent with an out-of-control juvenile, and took two harassment complaints.

July 17: Police checked on suspicious activity in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street.

July 18: Police took reports of intruders in the 400 block of South Main Street, a suspicious vehicle, a suspected vandalism, and harassment, and responded to a delayed report of an underage drinking party in the 300 block of South Main Street.

July 19: Officers checked on suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Main Street and took a report of a suspicious object in the 400 block of South Date.

July 20: Officers responded to a service station drive-off in the 500 block of East D Street, a dog complaint, and a report of a power line down at Washington and B Street.

MARION

Theft

Theft of $20 in gasoline was reported at 1:30 p.m. July 3 at Ampride, Marion.

Domestic battery and kidnapping

Shannon Lee Eden reported being hit and kidnapped by her spouse at 5 a.m. on July 5. Police Chief Tyler Mermis said the case is under investigation and no arrest had been made.

Theft

Theft of $50 in gas was reported at 9 p.m. July 8 from Casey’s General Store, Marion.

Criminal damage to property

A light bulb and dome worth $60 were reported broken July 1 at Marion Municipal Airport.

Driving under the influence

Benjamin Krause, 23, of Lincoln, was arrested on charges of transporting an open container of alcohol and driving under the influence at 2:39 a.m. Saturday at Ridge Road and U.S. 56.

Contributing to minors

Two cases of contributing to child’s misconduct and purchase or consumption of alcohol by a minor were reported at 4 p.m. July 15 on the 200 block of N. Fourth St., in Marion. No other information was available.
