Activities reported

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

March 10 — An individual reported a lost wallet.

March 11 — A vacant residence in the 600 block of E. C St. was checked for an open door and everything was OK. A report of suspicious activity in the 400 block of E. 1st St. was subjects with an air soft rifle. A dog barking complaint was reported in the 300 block of N. Jefferson St. A suspicious person was reported banging on a window in the 200 block of N. Main St. No suspect was found.

March 12 — A welfare check was done in the 300 block of S. Lincoln St. and everything was OK. A water leak was reported in the 200 block of S. Adams St., city shut off the water.

March 13 — A 6-month-old child was taken into protective custody in the 400 block of S. Main St. after a mother was jailed for probation violation. A civil stand-by was done in the 100 block of S. Ash St. and everything was OK. An individual walking in the 300 block of W. B St. was given a ride home after her car stopped working due to weather conditions. An anonymous tip was made of a runaway Wichita teen in Hillsboro. The boy, who had been missing for two weeks, was taken into protective custody.

March 14 — A vacant residence on C St. was checked for an open door and everything was OK. A recovered license was returned to its owner. An individual received assistance in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. after being locked out of the house.

March 15 — A civil stand-by was done in the 200 block of S. Cedar. A lost semi driver at Santa Fe Rd. and US-56 received assistance with directions.

March 16 — An individual was contacted for a water leak in the 300 block of S. Ash St. Suspicious activity in the 400 block of S. Adams St. turned out to be an individual locked out of his house. He had removed the screen on a window to get back in.

Marion

March 11 — A motorist received a citation near Timber Rd. and US-56 for speeding and driving with a suspended license.  A motorist was given a warning near Main St. and Eastmoor Dr. for a tag light out.

March 12 — A motorist was warned in the 400 block of E. Main St. for speeding.  A bank alarm in the 1100 block of E. Main turned out to be a false alarm. 

March 13 — A suspicious person was reported, but everything was OK.  An attempt was made to use a counterfeit $20 bill at the Marion City Building, but no arrest has been made. A motorist received a citation near Main and 5th Sts. for speeding.

March 14 — A welfare check was done in the 100 block of S. Freeborn and everything was OK.  An individual was warned for trespassing. 

Peabody

March 11 — A burglary was reported at a storage shed in the 600 block of N. Sycamore St., with gas cans, a battery charger, and a portable heater reported missing. No suspect was found.

March 14 — An inspection of animals was conducted on N. Prairie Lawn Rd. near N. Elm St. in preparation for a municipal court trial.

March 16 — A pair of criminal damage reports were made in the 200 block of N. Olive St. A motorist was assisted with a noninjury accident.

March 17 — An individual was warned for trespassing in the 200 block of N. Olive St.
