Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

May 12 – Police could not find a reckless driver reported on US-56.

May 13 – A report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of N. Main St. proved unfounded.

May 14 – A homeless person traveling on US-56 and passing through Hillsboro was investigated.

May 15 – A child missing on Grand Ave. was quickly found. An opossum was reported in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. A shirtless homeless person was reported in the 100 block of N. Main St. A gas meter was struck by a vehicle in the 200 block of S. Jefferson St. Police could not find a reckless driver reported on US-56.

May 16 – A littering complaint was investigated in Memorial Park. Lost keys were returned to their owner. A dog bite was reported on N. Main St. but the dog was not identified. A 911 disconnect reported in the 200 block of E. Grand Ave. and suspicious activity reported in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. both proved to be no problem.

May 17 – A possible scam was reported.

May 18 – A drunk driver reported at Western Heights Circle proved unfounded. A dog complaint at Grand Ave. and Washington St. was investigated.

Marion

May 13 – A motorist contacted for a gas skip in the 1200 block of E. Main St. returned to pay.

May 14 – An individual was contacted about a barking dog. A complaint of an individual mowing grass clippings into the roadway was reported in the 200 block of N. Roosevelt St. Possible violations of a protective order were reported. A civil standby was done in the 500 block of N. Cedar St. An injured cat was reported near Walnut and Main Sts., but the animal was picked up before police arrived.

May 15 – A loose dog was reported in the 300 block of Walnut St., but was not found. An individual reported a possible protection order violation. Officers responded to a landlord-tenant disturbance in the 400 block of S. 4th St. A commercial alarm was reported in the 1000 block of Industrial Rd., but everything was OK.

May 16 – A dog owner was warned for a loose dog in the 200 block of N. Lincoln St. A possible theft in the 1000 block of E. Main St. ended up being a civil issue, and no action was taken. A commercial alarm in the 1000 block of Industrial Rd. was investigated.

May 17 – A parking complaint in the 1500 block of Victory Ln. was investigated. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Cedar St. A motorist received citations for an expired driver’s license and no proof of insurance near Main St. and Ashley Dr. A motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56 near Upland Rd.

May 18 – A motorist was warned for an illegal U-turn near Walnut and Main Sts. A motorist received a citation for speeding on US-56 near Industrial Rd. A motorist was warned for failure to use a blinker near Cedar and Denver Sts. A motorist received a citation for no proof of insurance and no tag light near Batt and Roosevelt Sts.

May 19 – A report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of S. Coble St. proved unfounded. A dog owner received a citation for a pair of loose dogs in the 700 block of N. Cedar St. A motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56 near Upland Rd.

Peabody

May 17 – An animal neglect complaint in the 800 block of Chestnut St. was turned over to animal control for further investigation.
