Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

July 8 – A traffic complaint was reported in Western Heights Cir., and suspicious activity was investigated in the 500 block of S. Lincoln St. Door-to-door sales persons were reported, suspicious activity was investigated in the 600 block of W. Grand Ave., and a lost wallet was reported.

July10 – Officers removed debris from a road, and juveniles were reported riding a lawn mower through a muddy alleyway. Officers investigated a traffic complaint on Third St., and provided a welfare check on Kennedy St.

July 11 – A motorist received assistance with a flat tire at D St. and Prairie Pointe Ct.

July12 – A vehicle was reported in a ditch at Hillsboro Family Aquatic Center, but had no damage. A traffic complaint was reported on US-56, and officers provided a welfare check in the 300 block of N. Madison St.

July 13 – Officers provided a camper hookup in Memorial Park, and a motorist received assistance with a vehicle out of gas in the 300 block of N. Ash St.

Marion

July 7 – A reckless driver was reported on US-56. Officers provided a welfare check in the 300 block of Locust St.

July 8 – A motorist was warned for an improper U-turn on Main St., and a motorist received a citation for an expired registration near Cedar and Lawrence Sts. A dog picked up in the 200 block of Locust St. was taken to the Animal Health Center, and a motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56.

July 9 – A loose dog was unable to be caught near Lawrence and Thorp Sts., and a pair of loose dogs were reported in the 400 block of Locust St. Motorists were warned for tag light and headlight out near Upland Rd. and US-56, and for no tag light near US-56 and Cedar St. Officers investigated suspicious people on Main St.

July10 – A gas meter was reported hit by a motorist in the 500 block of N. Cedar St., and a dog was taken to AHC. Motorists received citations for speeding on K-150 east of the roundabout, for an illegally parked vehicle in the 1100 block of Nickerson St., and a motorist was warned for speeding on US-56.

July 11 – A dog picked up in the 1000 block of E. Main St. was taken to AHC, and a motorist received a citation for driving with a suspended license.

July12 – Motorists were warned for expired registration in the 1100 block of E. Main St., and for no turn signal and no seatbelt. Three people were warned for mowing grass clippings into the street. A motorist received a citation for expired registration in the 800 block of N. Roosevelt St., where a passenger was arrested on a warrant from McPherson County and transported by sheriff’s deputies to the county line. Motorists were warned for a headlight out near Main and 4th Sts., no tag light near US-56 and Cedar Sts, and a motorist received a citation of speeding and no proof of insurance near US-56 and Upland Rd.

July 13 – Officers met with a resident about a civil matter in the 300 block of Miller St., and provided civil standbys in the 1000 block of E. Main St., and the 400 block of S. 4th St.

Peabody

July 8 – Officers assisted Westview Nursing employees with finding a resident who left unsupervised.

July 9 – Officers investigated vandalism at Peabody City Park.

July12 – Officers investigated vandalism in the 500 block of N. Vine St., and a noninjury accident where a rock thrown by a lawnmower shattered a parked vehicle’s window in the 600 of W. 4th St.
