Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Sept. 30 – A harassment complaint in the 300 block of S. Ash St., and a dispute between a property owner and tenant were reported. A suspicious package was investigated at Tabor College. A harassment complaint was reported in the 500 block of E. D St. A civil standby was provided in the 700 block of S. Washington St., and a suspicious person was reported in the 100 block of N. Washington St.

Oct. 1 – A civil standby was provided in the 700 block of S. Washington St. A possibly suicidal person was reported in the 400 block of S. Jefferson St. A welfare check was provided on US-56. Dog complaints in the 900 block of E. A St. and the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. were reported. A parking complaint in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was reported.

Oct. 2 – Suspicious activity in the 100 block of W. Grand Ave., and an abandoned vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St. were reported. Drug contraband found in the 400 block of S. Jefferson St. was turned over to law enforcement.

Thursday – Suspicious activity in the 100 block of S. Main St., and a parking complaint in the 700 block of W. Grand Ave. were reported. A possible shoplifting was investigated at Dollar General, but no charges were filed.

Friday – A dog complaint was reported in the 200 block of N. Jefferson St., and officers attempted to find a person wanted on warrants.

Saturday – The owner of a stolen bicycle found it. A suspicious person was reported on US-56, and debris was removed from the roadway on US-56.

Marion

Sept. 30 – A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 100 block of Forest St. Officers met with a person who picked up a dog at Animal Health Center. A possible theft was reported in the 100 block of Billings St.

Oct. 1 – A false alarm was investigated in the 1100 block of E. Main St. A motorist received assistance near Main and Coble Sts. A scam attempt was reported.

Oct. 2 – A person received assistance catching his loose dog.

Thursday – A motorist was warned for no taillights.

Friday – A motorist was warned for no tag light on US-56.

Saturday – Three motorists were warned for speeding on S. 3rd St. A disturbance was investigated in the 400 block of W. Santa Fe St. but no crime was reported.

Sunday – Suspicious activity was investigated at Central Park. Three motorists were warned for traffic violations on US-56.

Oct. 1 – A verbal dispute between residents was reported at Westview Manor, but no further action was taken.

Oct. 2 – A possible assault was reported. It remains under investigation.
