Activity reports

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 14 – A motorist was warned for failing to stop at a Stop sign.

Oct. 15 – A minimal damage accident was investigated on private property.

Oct. 16 – A traffic complaint was investigated, and two motorists were warned for distracted driving. A delayed report was taken of possible illegal activity.

Thursday – A loose dog was returned to its owner in the 600 block of S. Ash St., and a false alarm was investigated in the 200 block of S. Lincoln St. Officers provided assistance to a Barkman Honey employee locked inside the perimeter fence.

Friday – Motorists were warned for trailer lights, speeding in the 100 block of S. Adams St., entering a school’s restricted access zone, failing to yield, and speeding on US-56. A lost or stolen vehicle tag was reported in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St.

Saturday – A civil standby was provided, and a domestic disturbance investigated. Both occurred in the 100 block of S. Main St. Motorists were warned for an obstructed vehicle tag, and for speeding on US-56.

Sunday – A report was filed for found property, which can be picked up by the owner at the police station.

Marion

Oct. 14 – An individual received help turning an electric wheelchair on in the 1500 block of E. Lawrence St., and a person was warned for trespassing in the 400 block of S. Freeborn St. A report of gunfire in the 1500 block of E. Main St. proved unfounded.

Oct. 15 – Officers met with a person concerned about stray cats in the 300 block of W. Main St., and a loose dog was retrieved by its owner in the 300 block of S. Freeborn St.

Oct. 16 – Officers provided assistance for a cat stuck between fence planks.

Thursday – A disturbance was investigated in the 200 block of S. Freeborn St., but no law enforcement action was taken. A motorist was warned for a headlight out near Main and Elm Sts.

Friday – A lost cell phone was turned in to law enforcement. A disturbance was investigated in the 200 block of S. Cedar St. and individuals were separated, but no further action was needed.

Saturday – A motorist was warned for speeding near 5th and Main Sts.

Sunday – A motorist was warned for speeding near Cedar St. and US-56.

Oct. 15 – A debit card was reported stolen in the 700 block of E. 9th St., and a possible abduction reported at Westview Manor proved unfounded.

Oct. 16 – A stolen bicycle was reported in the 300 block of N. Plum St.

Friday – A motorist received a citation for no insurance.
